Today, we will prepare some tasty 'nopales with chipotle and mushrooms'

We know that the cactus, to Mexico, is one the most important representative symbols, as is embodied in the National Shield as part of the support of the eagle devouring the snake

In Mexico there are 8 endemic species, which means that only exist within the country.
This plant is part of all the Aztecs legends and mythology, that their properties could heal and he was considered part of the plant life that never dies, because if it dries may even give new life to another plant.

The cactus are rich in vitamins and fiber, as are vitamin A, B6, C and K, and also in minerals like magnesium, calcium, iron, copper, potassium, etc. and can help with a balanced diet for their fiber content.

The ingredients are:

1 / 2 kg nopales (1.1025 lbs)
1 / 2 kg of tomato (1.1025 lbs).
1 / 2 kg of mushrooms (1.1025 lbs).
1 1 / 2 tablespoons vegetable oil.
1 / 2 cup heavy cream.
50grs. cheese, Chihuahua type (0.11 lbs).
at pickled chipotles amount needed.
1 onion.
oil and salt.


PROCEDURE.

1.-Cut diced nopales, and cook with onion slices and a little salt until grass.

2 .- Drain in a colander then, to cool and cover with a cloth dipped in water well cold is changed several times, or using cold water.

3 .- remove the skin and seed tomatoes, chipotles and grind with the blender. Then, fry them in little oil into another container.

4 .- then spread with a little oil an ovenproof dish or container and the refractory, put the cactus, tomato sauce and chili, put a layer of cream and grated cheese alternatives, it must end with a layer of cream and cheese.

5 .- Finally introducing the mixture in the oven should be at 250 degrees C. twenty minutes before serving.

Serve with warm 'tortillas' or 'tortilla' chips.

MiraFlores & Pombo Parks

this weekend I had a difficult decision, get up form my bed at 7:30 am on Saturday brrr!!! or meet a corner of the world's largest city. Yes Mexico City...

Well I think my decision is not relevant, but suffice to say that there is always time for rest and fun, but this Saturday, I gave myself the task of knowing a place a little hidden, but as each of the places that are in this city, has its touch of magic and history.

Well, this time we went a little to the southwest of the city. It was 8:40 and we took the subway line 3 (Indios Verdes-Universidad), we travel to the 'Centro Medico'station. We moved to the Line 9 (Tacabaya-Pantitlan) and arrived at the station tacubaya. We moved again, now on line 7 (Barranca del Muerto-Rosario) and get off at 'San Pedro de los Pinos' Station.

Once there, jejeje, The truth anything we hadn't eaten breakfast, so we decided to buy a good 'torta de tamal' (also known as 'Guajolota'. Very typical in Mexico City, just enough to go through the streets in the morning to see that almost everywhere sell this delicious dish).

Well after the respective 'Guajolota'(by the way the greens are the most frequently asked and the ones I like myself), we asked the locals how to get to park Pombo.

A Mr nice, said me that I had to go to the 7th street, which practically to two streets from the subway station. Well, coming to this park we give account that is very small, and therefore if you are child you fun but ,this is very well have a good time to rest and admire the colonial style homes Californian.

I'm Amazed to know how there are parks very old and this is not exception. This park dates back to 1904, when the attorney Oaxaqueño Luis Pombo donated this space to the community. In the middle there is a kiosk with roofed rare, the kind with metal columns Renaissance Baroque style.

The truth, I recommend this park to go eat ice cream, or reading a good book under the shade of various trees that surround the park.

As at 12:40 gave us a little hungry, and then there is San Pedro's Market near, which they say is famous for its dining room serving dishes based on seafood.The truth, I don't like any of that but I chose some delicious' Enchiladas Verdes".

After a delicious lunch, we went to another famous place near the park, which is the parish of San Vicente Ferrer. this has a brick base,whose styles span handled some neoclassical-baroque,
and where is the bell tower.

This temple, so I read when I entered, was built between 1922 and 1958 by the Dominicans.

In this temple we can see the classic and golden altars, tained glass in polychrome over the ship and very beautiful oil paintings of the life of St. Vincent Ferrer along all the walls.

The truth all paths in this park are very quick, took no more than 1 hour in the whole journey that I mentioned, though, at lunch if we take some time jijijiji.


Well, near there went through the second avenue , walk five blocks south, and arrived at the famous "Miraflores park", which is much larger than the Pombo's park and has more types of trees and plants and palm trees. What I liked from there are the different types of cobblestone streets driving in the park and the huge pine trees make me think, why it is called 'San Pedro de Los Pinos'?

The truth is a good place to relax and, well, worth mentioning, I saw that rent cars remote control to have a little fun jejejeje.

If you want a romantic and peaceful place I recommend this place enough and if they want something more fun, expect another post jejeje

CHIMALISTAC

Good, Today, we are in one of the places that most represent our colonial origins, here in Mexico City. you know, these unique places, where it seems to never spend time, where they are still traces of the past colonial. This place is the old "Plaza de Chimalistac", now known as "Plaza Federico Gamboa" (south of Mexico City).


Of these types of sites, are the ones I like to talk, because they are places that speak a little about the history of the city. Well, the journey begins on Insurgentes Avenue and Miguel Angel de Quevedo, where I leave my car parked there and a cop came up to tell me that they were parking in front, and I was in a prohibited place. Anyway, not to start the badly day , I agreed here jejeje and I started my walk.


Chimalistac was a great garden, later the owner Don Juan de Guzman Ixtolinque sold almost entirely to a set of cook who called themselves "The Carmelites". Then over time, these characters, sold a part and trained well, which is now known as the Chimalistac colony. Today, it retains almost all of these picturesque aspects


Chimalistac era un gran huerto, que posteriormente el dueño Don Juan de Guzman Ixtolinque vendio casi en su totalidad a un conjunto de friales que se llamaban "Los Carmelitas". Posteriormente con el paso del tiempo, estos personajes, vendieron una parte y se formó así, lo que se conoce actualmente como la colonia Chimalistac. Hoy, se conserva casí todos esos aspectos pintorescos, ya que los vecinos mantienen el tradicional uso de materiales como la cantera, madera, piedra volcanica en el diseño de sus casas, así como las calles empedradas y la vegetación abundante que nos permiten apreciar mas como era la vida en la época colonial.

I went there and discovered that the monument in the middle of the park is very large. After a bit to rest near a bench, I asked the same salesperson, where we said we could eat and the La Bombilla restaurant.

Well to get to the restaurant, I realized something very original in pond opposite the spot resembles a pyramid which has seeds of granite stairs through which one enters with very heavy metals, and adorn the entrance two sculptures by peasants, who, told us a girl who greeted us were Mr. Ignacio Asúnsolo works. Once inside the place, I realized that the floors were marble, but I was left with the doubt and I asked a waitress and in fact were of marble. Well I got ready to eat some tasty tacos Cecina enchilada


And as we say here in Mexico, "Full belly happy heart, a little walk in the park, and arrived at San Sebastian Street and on reaching the Place de Chimalistac saw a stone cross and a circular source the center atrium that serves as a very small but beautiful chapel built in 1585 by Carmelites. Within this chapel there is a XVIII century gilded altarpiece, which is preceded by the figure of Saint Sebastian and five paintings that try to represent the five mysteries of the rosary. What gave me a bit of laughter and curiosity is that according to a person there is great demand for weddings jijiji.

There is much history here, for example, I found another building with very little peculiar, but very original which is now the Centro de Estudios de Historia de Mexico Condumex.
